Brew Guide : ESPRESSO
EQUIPMENT Espresso machine, Coffee grinder (capable of fine grind), Coffee beans, Portafilter (usually comes with the machine), Tamper, Espresso cups, Scale, Timer
METHOD
1. Fill your espresso machine’s portafilter with ground coffee (18-20g for a double shot)
2. Tamp the coffee grounds into the portafilter
3. Insert the portafilter into your espresso machine and start the shot
4. A good shot has a steady flow and takes about 20-30 seconds
5. If it flows too fast, use a finer grind or tamp more firmly. If it flows too slow, use a coarser grind or tamp less firmly
6. Stop the shot when you’ve reached your desired volume
NOTES Remember, brewing coffee is an art. Don’t be afraid to experiment with grind sizes, brew times, and water temperature until you find what tastes best for you!
