General Manager - MediaCityUK

Full Time position 

We are looking for an experienced manager to become General Manager of a busy specialty coffee business in the heart of MediaCity, Salford and to run the catering management of a second site at Host, MediaCity

Essential:

  • At least 1 year management experience in a coffee shop setting
  • Line management experience
  • Excellent customer service and how to train those values and practices in your team
  • Interest in specialty coffee
  • Experience of staff training/coaching
  • Experience of working in a high pressured environment
  • Flexible, solution led approach
  • Experience of financial reporting, staffing costs
  • Proven experience of managing staffing cost inline with budgets
  • Stock management experience and cost management
  • Understanding of H&S requirements
  • Spreadsheet management using google sheets
  • Use of audit software for EHO (iauditor/safety culture or similar)
  • Experience with POS systems and uploading/deleting items (specific training provided)
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Eligible to work in the UK

 

Desirable:

  • Bar management experience
  • Latte art
  • Event management
  • 2 years plus hospitality experience
  • Creating invoices using Xero
  • Working knowledge of Workforce software to manage rotas (or similar program)

 

Responsible but not limited to;

  • Work closely with the owners and other senior staff across the business
  • Staff rotas for two sites and managing leave requests
  • Staff training, performance management
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure quality food and service, review menu prices and creating
  • deals to maximise footfall and profit
  • Recruitment and onboarding of all new staff including contract documents and right to work
  • Absence management
  • Timesheet management for payroll
  • Point of contact for suppliers, account management, FOH stock ordering
  • Point of contact for contractors, responsibility for managing faulty equipment and other arising issues
  • Liaise closely with the HOST events team to organise catered events
  • Work with the head chef/event chef and FOH supervisors to ensure all required catering is supplied
  • Take responsibility for ensuring products are being invoiced correctly to HOST
  • Ensure all takings and costs are correctly reported
  • Monitoring stock/staffing spend and ensuring cut backs are made when possible
  • Allocation of tips so that they can be added to payroll
  • Timesheet management so payroll data is correct and up to date
